RELIABLE ANESTHESIA

The 10 basic principles in anesthesia, for the patients of Boğaziçi Animal Hospital:
1. Physical Examination
Before taking our patients under anesthesia, we carefully subject them to a complete physical examination to see whether there is any risk for the operation or any condition needed to be considered.
2. Blood Analyses
With the analyses we made at the advanced laboratory of our hospital before the operation, we try to determine our most healthy procedure by analyzing the anemia, liver and kidney function tests of our patients as well as their blood sugar and protein levels and coagulation time.
3. Breed Specific Anesthesia
We apply breed specific anesthesia programs for the cats and dogs from different breeds such as Doberman, Greyhounds, siames, main coons etc due to some drug sensitivity and blood coagulation problems.
4. Modern Anesthesia Drugs
The anesthesia drugs used in our hospital are the most reliable drugs used in the world. Our pet friends would benefit from the reliability of the modern anesthesia.
5. Advanced Monitor System
Lives of all our patients are ensured during the anesthesia process by means of the modern digital monitor system in our hospital. ECG, Respiration, Blood oxygen saturation, Pulse, Blood presure and Body Temperature of our pet friends can be monitored throughout the anesthesia process; and even the minimum deviations can be intervened immediately.
6. Respiratory Tract Intubations
In the general anesthesia made in Boğaziçi Animal Hospital, precaution is taken against any possible blockage by means of the tube system applied to the respiratory tract; and in case of respiratory standstill, the needed artificial respiration is automatically provided and life of our pet is ensured by this way.
7. Closed Circuit Anesthesia System (Gas Anesthesia)
General anesthesia is the procedure that we mostly prefer. By means of this system, instant drug dosage application to our patient can be possible by monitoring the life data through the monitor throughout the anesthesia. By this means, a drug charge in advance would be out of question, and on the other hand, we can wake our patient immediately by interrupting the medication if desired; and in consequence of that our living being would not pass to recovery from the anesthesia for a long time.
8. Fluid Support
By applying fluid support, we can keep the kidneys more active and living, which are the organs affected during the anesthesia at most. Besides, we can reset the fluid that our patient losses during the operation. **During the intravenous catheter that we use for giving fluid would be an application way of many life saving drugs required to be urgently applied during the operation.
9. Protection of Body Temperature
Decrease in the body temperature that we call hypothermia is the case occurred with the highest Incidence and can be easily overlooked during the anesthesia. Protection of the body temperature is highly important in terms of normal operating of the metabolism and also is life saving. In Boğaziçi Animal Hospital, the bed on which the patient lies and the serum given are heated throughout the anesthesia for this purpose. Besides, the body temperature of our patient can be continuously monitored through the monitor during this process.
10. Attentive Care
During the period from our patient's entry into anesthesia to recovery from anesthesia, our patient is definitely accompanied by our well-trained and experienced friends and never be left alone. **One of us will have been holding his-her paw, by the recovery time of our patient.
