Periodental diseas is an infection of the gums that is most commonly caused by the build up of plaque and tartar in a pet’s mouth.Bacteria combined with saliva and food debris between the tooth and gum,can cause plaque formulations that accumulate on the tooth.As bacteria grow in the plaque and as calcium salts are deposited,

Bakterial plaque is the most impotant substrate in the development of priodental disease.The inflamation and destruction that accmopanies periodental disease result from the direct action of bacteria and their by-products on peridental disease as well as these bakteria can transport with blood streem to the Heart,liver and kidneys leading to more serious disease.

Without proper dental care ,80 percent of dogs and 70 percent of cats show signs of oral disease by age three.First sign is mouth odour then followe oral pain,dysfonctions,tooth loos and systemic complication of heart ,liver and kidnys.

In fact, oral disease is the number one health problem diagnosed in dogs and cats.

We Recomend:

  • Visiting your veterinarian just for dental health yearly for younger pets and twice yearly for pets older then 7.
  • A home dental care routinly that includes brushing with a proper oral antiseptic or past. Avoid from using of humen tooth pastes –these contain ingridients which should not be swallowed by your pets.
  • Nutritious diet, perferably a proper dry food, biscuites and chew toys.
  • If your pet needs dental intervention and if he or she is 7 or older, to protect the health of your pet during anestegia, a full senior blood panel will be required.
